Like most businesses, Shoal Creek Designs, LLC started in the basement of a small home just off Shoal Creek Road in Canton, GA by a local resident by the name of Stephen Young during the year of 2018. The very first project was a small garage shelf that his father had showed him how to build when Stephen and his wife had moved in the home and needed more space to "de-clutter". A coworker had seen his shelves and wanted some for themself, so they hired Stephen to build a set and found them very useful and began spreading the word. During 2019-2020 was when the business really boomed with everyone working from home during Covid and the business expanded into office desks, custom furniture and interior built-ins! The business kept expanding and eventually what was a out-of-the-garage business moved into a small 24x16 woodshop. Thankfully, this provided enough room for the business to expand more, but in the beginning of 2024, it was time to move AGAIN! Stephen and his family sold their Canton home and moved to a quiet town of Fairmount, Georgia and purchased a home that allowed for room to expand the business even more. With big plans in the near future, they hope to keep the uphill climb going!
